CARTOONING WITH GUY DORIAN

Cartoon style illustrations are used for various types of projects. In this
class we will explore the different ways to illustrate and use cartoons in the
art world. This class is great for anyone wanting to create their own
characters, create their own stories and utilize cartoons in their own way. A
definite hit!
CHILDREN’S ART

Children ages 8-12 will explore the world of both two and three dimensional
media. Pencil, colored pencil, acrylic painting and clay will be among the media
children will be exposed to. Students will learn by following the teacher in a
step-by-step method that allows the child to see projects take shape from
beginning to end.
CHILDREN’S ART AGES 10-13

This next level of instruction will let children build on ideas and projects
previously studied in Children’s Art. More focus will be placed on learning from
the masters. Projects will have a greater degree of difficulty so Children’s Art
is recommended, but not a necessity.
CO-ED TEEN ART PORTFOLIO PREP

Creating an original and diversified portfolio is a requirement for any teen
applying for acceptance into a college art program. This class offers lessons in
color theory, composition, and the importance of edges, along with Old Masters’
drawing techniques and lessons in art history. An assignment is clearly
presented at the start of each session and students are told to be creative,
even if that means bending the "rules." With the encouragement, direction and
guidance that the teens receive from their teacher, they will build their
confidence and find their purpose in art.
COME DRAW WITH ELAINE FOR ADULTS & TEENS

Drawing – Believing that everyone can draw, Elaine will take you from flat,
linear drawing to 3-dimensional portraits with values using right brain
techniques. Start seeing the world with a more holistic point of view, using
graphite, charcoal, and color pencil mediums. Self portraits included.
COME DRAW WITH ELAINE FOR CHILDREN

Students learn drawing techniques based on creative right brain vision. They
also learn the proper pencils, paper and colored pencil methods to create
life-like animals, landscapes and profile portraits. This class builds

In this class, students will study many fine art techniques as well as how
to apply them to their comic and fantasy illustrations. We will discuss
different subjects such as 3-Dimensional forms, figures, color, light and

CREATIVE ART FOR CHILDREN

This class is designed for children ages 8-12. Children will work in a
variety of media stressing fun and imagination through a step-by-step process.
Projects may include more than one medium and – as always – basic skills will be
reinforced during these art projects. Bring your imagination and get ready for a
fun time!
CREATIVE DRAWING FOR CHILDREN

This class is designed for children ages 8-12. Basic drawing principles will
be applied in each project, reinforcing shape, color, composition and
perspective. Children will learn using a step-by-step approach. Some projects
will use more than one drawing medium (for example, color pencil and oil
pastel). Students will be encouraged to "think outside the box". Learning, as
well as having a fun time, will provide your child an enjoyable educational
experience.
DRAWING ANATOMY FOR TEENS & ADULTS

Need help drawing figures? Well, then, this is the class for you! In this
class, we will discuss and illustrate male and female anatomy, as well as
techniques to use in illustrating figures for books, comic books, poster art,
portfolio and much more. This class is great for teens, college students, and
professional artists who want to incorporate anatomy into their artwork, as well
as adults who just want to have fun drawing anatomy. Figures are probably the
most difficult thing for artists to illustrate. Guy Dorian will make it easy for

DRAWING & PASTELS WITH ELAINE

Learn to draw using negative space in order to get the positive subject
matter. Focusing on edges, contours, and shapes, Elaine will guide you to create

Students now have the opportunity to learn this fantastic art form in the
traditional Japanese way. All classes involve illustration and storyboarding
techniques, as well as teach professional coloring techniques of Manga and Anime
art. Any person who has an interest in Anime or Manga should definitely sign up!
EXPLORING DRAWING
Most of us
realize that baseballs are spheres and soup cans are cylinders, but do you know
the shape of a seashell, bird or skateboard? In this class your child will draw
objects from beginning to end through careful observation while learning about
specific techniques and material. During the second half of the session,
students will complete an individual drawing of their choice. This course will
teach a variety of drawing skills that will change with each new session.
JUST FANTASY ART

In this class, students will study many fine art techniques as well as how
to apply them to their comic and fantasy illustrations. We will discuss

KIDS ART

This class is designed for children ages 5-8. Your child will be introduced
to basic shapes and colors. These basic building blocks will provide a solid
foundation for future art lovers and artists. Children will explore the great
world of art using colored pencils, oil pastels, clay, paper and paint. This
unique learning experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring
their creativity.
MIXED MEDIA WITH ELAINE FOR ADULTS & TEENS

Using two or more complimentary mediums (such as charcoal, pastel,
watercolor, acrylic and graphite) in one painting, students learn to incorporate
various techniques in the subject matter of their choosing. Many students taking
this class have successfully built portfolios that have won them college
scholarships.
OIL OR WATERCOLOR FOR TEENS
Have fun with color! Leave school far behind. Progress at your own speed.
Follow your dreams and create masterpieces by learning to express your own ideas
through paint. We explore many techniques, including impressionist and abstract.
We will study the color wheel and figure out what makes "mud", and what makes
colors that "sing". Some knowledge of drawing is suggested for this class. Still
life, landscape, and portrait painting will be examined.
OIL PAINTING FOR ADULTS

Basic training in realistic painting, principles of light, form, shadow,
value, color and composition. The instructor and student will work on a
one-on-one basis. Individual subject matter is selected by the student and
brought to the first class. Color photographic images are suggested.
OPEN STUDIO ACRYLIC PAINTING

This class is for those individuals who have the desire to select and create
their own exclusive painting. The instructor will guide you in setting up a
composition, selecting a proportional canvas size, drawing your image, mixing
colors and various acrylic painting techniques. If you’ve had some painting
experience, but need a little extra direction, this class is for you. Bring your
project ideas to class. Portraits, pets, landscapes, seascapes, still lifes and
abstracts are all welcome.
PENCIL & PAINT FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Your little ones will enjoy coming to this "Mommy & Me" class where they
will get a little structure, learn some little skills, get just a
little messy and most of all be a little creative. Many art
lessons are linked to children's picture books so that your preschooler will
learn through repetition. They will first hear a story and see pictures that go
with it. Next, they will create a related picture following a series of simple
instructions using a variety of techniques. They continue learning by retelling
the story at home, using their artwork as inspiration. (Their version, of
course!)
Pre-schoolers can have fun while learning
through art! Youngsters will love what they create using media such as paints,
papers, glue, clay and other "fun stuff". The simple, structured projects this
course offers will help build younger children’s hand/eye coordination, as well
as their confidence.
PRE-TEEN ART

This class teaches middle school age children what perspective does to
objects, how gray is made from mixing color wheel opposites, and how hues,
shades and tints can transform a circle into a sphere. The primary goal for each
8-week session is to complete an acrylic painting and to create an original
frame for your masterpiece. Specific art terms are discussed at each class, and
one or two classes from each session are set aside to work on drawing techniques
of the masters.
TEEN ART WORKSHOP

Students will work on their own projects in a workshop format that is based
on assignments from the instructor. This class will help teens discover their
creativity, individuality, and unique style. Assignments are usually based on
ideas that are relevant in contemporary artworks, as well as the work of the
masters. Students will work toward building a body of work that can be used as a
portfolio.
WATERCOLOR FOR ADULTS

Transparent color, squishy washes, layering, loose shapes, sharp edges.
Great people to paint with. Come and get those creative juices flowing! Draw and
