Heather
MacFarlane enjoys
teaching children ages 5 through 12 years how to draw and paint.
She encourages her students to find familiar shapes in the subject
matter they are sketching. Heather teaches them how to draw and
place these shapes on their papers so that, when they are assembled
correctly, they form the basic outline of their drawing.
The students are
taught how to complete their artwork with a variety of mediums from
markers, to colored pencils and acrylic paints. Most art projects
are completed during one class period.
Heather received
an Associates degree in Animation Art and a Bachelor’s degree in
Illustration from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. While
in school, Heather participated in a program that exposed senior
citizens to fine art. This project was so heartfelt that it was
covered by the Fox 5 television news channel. Heather’s current art
projects include digital imagery.
