Susanna Anastasia comes to the Around the Corner Art Center with over twenty five years of professional experience as both an exhibiting artist and teacher.  Her areas of expertise are with traditional oil paints and transparent watercolors.  “Susie,” as her adult students call her, gives beginners as well as returning painters individual attention so that they may create their own masterpieces. 

 Susanna teaches traditional oil painting methods that include under painting, wet-into-wet blending, fat-over-lean layering and glazing.  They will learn about color mixing, the different mediums & how to handle different brushes.  Individuals will complete a work of art that will impress their family and friends.  

 Susanna attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art.  She is a member of the American Watercolor Society, American Artists Professional League of NYC and the Ocean County Artist Guild of Island Heights, NJ.

 In addition, she exhibits her paintings as a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Audobon Art Society in NYC.  As a member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society, Susanna participated in their 2006 Open Exhibition and their 2006 Associate Members Exhibition where she received an Award in Excellence.  Susanna Anastasia is also listed in the well-known Who’s Who in American Art.
